South Australian Brewing Club (SABC) is a club based in Adelaide where beer and brewing enthusiasts can collaborate and discuss the brewing of beer at home or at the craft brewing level. We welcome members from all over South Australia.
As has become our winter event tradition in recent years, the Great SABC BeerBQ will be coming your way on Saturday 5th May 2018.
As always, this will be a fully subsidised event for SABC club members and one not to be missed as previous events have been sensational.
More communication regarding venue etc will be announced in the near future.
Unfortunately due to a lack of interest in the Gladfields malt buy, we will not be going ahead with the bulk buy at this time. Apologies to those who have made purchases, these will be refunded in full in the coming few days.

We’ll be looking to have our first of several ANHC planning meetings from 5-6pm on Sunday 25th February just after the Hawkers Beer event at the Wheaty lead by Gary Waters.
At this stage there are no formal plans for the meeting. We are looking to guage interest in those wanting to join in for ANHC planning and get some discussion going around the travel plans and event going forward. This is going to be a massive event later in the year for SABC, don’t miss your chance to get involved.
Grain bulk buy announcement:
Due to a slow pick up on the Gladfields grain buy, the closing date will be extended to COB Friday 2nd March.
SABC Club members can purchase grain from the SABC shop on a first come first served basis at https://shop.sabrew.com/
Non club members on the SABC Facebook group may participate if a minimum of 40 Sacks (1 pallet) is not achieved by Club members alone. If you are not an SABC Club member, register your interest to purchase by emailing the club at info@sabrew.com

Get set for one of the most eagerly awaited meetings of the year on 21st February from 7pm at the West Thebby Social Club.
The meeting will feature a yeast master-class from Tomaso and Federico from Atomic Yeast. A word from Federico about the meeting:
“Brewing yeast: the science behind the art of beer”. Not a divine intervention gave man beer: chemistry and biology orchestrate the production of this delicious beverage. Yeast, a little single cell organism, plays a fundamental role and therefore it has been domesticated for its ability to produce different flavour and aroma. Since the discovery of yeast in the late 1860’s by Louis Pasteur we have been studying it, but, in 2018 we are still far from unveil all its mysteries. Here a short summary of what we learned along the way”
Summer Comp results announced: It’s the news you’ve been waiting for! All will be revealed and place getters announced, be there!
Meeting tastings will be kept to a maximum of 2, due to the presentation, please email the Club if you intend to bring a beer along. Only brewers that have confirmed their tastings will be accepted.

This wednesday, join us for our first meeting of 2018 at Little Bang in Stepney from 7pm.
Ryan will be giving us the run down of the newest developments at one of SA’s brightest young micro’s. Always a treat to hear him talk.
There are spaces left for tastings at this meeting. Feel free to bring your best or worst or most interesting creation along for feedback from our knowledgeable gang, no beer is too too big or small and remember to bring at least 3-4 longnecks. We also encourage brewers to be prepared to bring as many notes and details about your brew as possible. Why not print out your recipe to pass out or post it on our Facebook page?
Also, remember that Summer Comp entries are welcome to be dropped off at this meeting.

Prizes have been nailed down and consist of flight to GABS with weekend pass, brewday at the Wheaty, Club membership for the year, Hawkers beer cases and Country Brewer vouchers. Oh, and not to mention, TRIPLE brewer of the year points!
Entries accepted at Country Brewer Clovelly Park, Beerbelly Pooraka and Brewmaker Holden Hill, alterntively, bring your bee along to the January Club meeting at Little Bang on Wednesday 17th.

February social gathering will be happening on Saturday 3rd February at West End from 1pm. Come and see a state of the art brewing facility up there with the worlds best.

This years ANHC will be held in Melbourne from 22-24th October 2018. This year SABC has plans to attend the conference and Club Night event and all are welcome! We’d like to set up a sub committee for organising all aspects of the weekend including travel, accommodation, conference and of course the BIG BASH of Club night. Lock it in your diaries and if you want to be part of organising, please contact the Club at info@sabrew.com
Hoppy New Year, brewers!
Now that the festive season has come and gone and the kegs have been drained, time to get your brew on again! Its been a memorable 2017 for the club, with our biggest growth in membership to date, some enjoyable events and social gatherings, some great meetings and many great beers brewed over the year which have had success at state and national level.
We’ll be going even bigger and better in 2018 which promises to be our strongest year yet as our committee will be meeting this week to plan out the next 6 months activities. If you have any suggestions or input, drop us an email at info@sabrew.com
