BYO Magazine Offer – Last Chance!

As I type this I’m finalising the details for the BYO Subscription offer. It WILL be sent to BYO this week – so you have until COB Thursday to get your name down – or you miss out until next year!

$40 gets you 8 issues over 12 months – the magazine is full of handy hints, tips and recipes and this offer is cheaper than you can get it in stores for locally – with a percentage of the cost going directly back to SABC.

‘Components of Beer Tasting Series’ at The Wheaty

The Wheaty are going to be running a 4 part tasting series covering the 4 base ingredients in beer – beginning on October 1st with a session on Hops.

The 4 sessions are
October 1st, Hops
October 29th, Malt
November 19th, Yeast
December 17th, Water

The sessions will be conducted with the help of Laura Mirsch; who is an experienced brewer from a large craft brewery in San Diego.

Also as a major bonus, SABC members who choose to attend any of these events will receive a free pint of beer courtesy of the Wheaty. You must contact the club before the event date so we can advise the Wheaty you’re going along!

Full results will be available at 8pm on 22nd September @ www.sabsosa.com

We’ll get our Club Brewer tally updated shortly too – it was very close going into this comp and with some great results for some of our brewers in this comp – it will go down to the wire!

September Members Meeting. This Wednesday!

It’s that time of the month again folks, time for our regular members meeting at The Wheaty. They’re held every 3rd Wednesday from 7pm out in the back room.

This meeting has no set discussion or presentation topic, but we will be running a dollar raffle for 2kg of spec malt – Special Roast, Melonoidin or Dark Crystal (to be decided). 100% of all money received goes directly to the club, as the malt was generously donated by a friend of the club.

This may also be your last chance to get in on the 8 issue BYO subscription for $40! This is a fantastic offer to get behind, the magazine has a good range of articles catering for brewers of every skill and experience level. It is cheaper to get the magazines via this order than to sign up for your own subscription by a good amount, with the extra benefit for your club that a percentage of the cost directly comes back to SABC!

Spots are filling fast – the offer will end at THIS club members meeting so that the details can be sent to BYO a week after the club meeting – you have until that date to get in!

We’ll see you at The Wheaty!

SABSOSA 2014. Are you entering?
