Last word from the ‘Prez’

We’ve harped on about Winter Comp and AGM for a while now, and this Wednesday 7pm at the Wheaty, it’s finally here.

With great sadness I will admit that this will be my swan song as SABC Club President. As life takes its twists and turns, priorities change and for me this is no different. The coming year will bring some challenges for me personally which will mean my commitment to the Club will become difficult. I have therefore come to the difficult decision to not re-elect for a Club committee position for the coming year.

I joined the Club in its infancy in 2012 and later joining the committee in late 2013. I’ve seen the Club grow from a small group of eager faces, just happy to share a brewing yarn and a beer, to a well-oiled brew Club that is the envy of homebrewing Clubs the nation over. SABC is what it is today due to the commitment and passion of the Club’s committee over the past few years. This will continue. I urge you to consider if a Club committee position is for you and if it is, give it a red hot go!

I have every confidence that the Club will continue to provide value, education and enjoyment to our loyal and growing membership in the year to come, and maybe a yarn and a few beers too!!

As for me, I hope to take a step back and enjoy the progress of this great Club from afar for a change, with a pint of SA’s finest in hand of course.

Cheers and beers, Clint
