January meeting

This wednesday, join us for our first meeting of 2018 at Little Bang in Stepney from 7pm.

Ryan will be giving us the run down of the newest developments at one of SA’s brightest young micro’s. Always a treat to hear him talk.

There are spaces left for tastings at this meeting. Feel free to bring your best or worst or most interesting creation along for feedback from our knowledgeable gang, no beer is too too big or small and remember to bring at least 3-4 longnecks. We also encourage brewers to be prepared to bring as many notes and details about your brew as possible.  Why not print out your recipe to pass out or post it on our Facebook page?

Also, remember that Summer Comp entries are welcome to be dropped off at this meeting.

Summer Comp final call

It’s time to get your Wheaty beers into bottles and head over to the Club competition site to get your entries in: https://comps.sabrew.com

Prizes have been nailed down and consist of flight to GABS with weekend pass, brewday at the Wheaty, Club membership for the year, Hawkers beer cases and Country Brewer vouchers. Oh, and not to mention, TRIPLE brewer of the year points!

Entries accepted at Country Brewer Clovelly Park, Beerbelly Pooraka and Brewmaker Holden Hill, alterntively, bring your bee along to the January Club meeting at Little Bang on Wednesday 17th.

It’s never been a better time to enter a brew in the Club Comp. Best of luck to all!!

ANHC and Club Night

This years ANHC will be held in Melbourne from 22-24th October 2018. This year SABC has plans to attend the conference and Club Night event and all are welcome! We’d like to set up a sub committee for organising all aspects of the weekend including travel, accommodation, conference and of course the BIG BASH of Club night. Lock it in your diaries and if you want to be part of organising, please contact the Club at info@sabrew.com

Hoppy New Year, brewers!

Now that the festive season has come and gone and the kegs have been drained, time to get your brew on again! Its been a memorable 2017 for the club, with our biggest growth in membership to date, some enjoyable events and social gatherings, some great meetings and many great beers brewed over the year which have had success at state and national level.

We’ll be going even bigger and better in 2018 which promises to be our strongest year yet as our committee will be meeting this week to plan out the next 6 months activities. If you have any suggestions or input, drop us an email at info@sabrew.com

Social Gatherings: West End brewery tour Saturday 3rd February at 1pm. Details to follow shortly. 

February meeting: Atomic Yeast presentation, yeast master-class and tastings. 7pm Wednesday 21st February at West Thebby Social Club. 

Late February (TBA) Hawkers Beer South African hops showcase event with special tastings by SABC and Hawkers Beer.
