Membership subs are due!

I’m sure current members will agree we’ve had a fantastic first 18 months as a club. With some excellent events in our past such as tours of Lobethal Bierhaus and Brew Boys breweries, an excellent American style BBQ thanks to valued club member Darren B; and of course our informative monthly club members meetings which take place on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at the craft beer mecca The Wheaty.

That’s only the beginning! We have another fantastic 12 months ahead and we’re looking to share it with all our members. We have some exciting events planned including tours of a local maltster, tours of local breweries, two BJCP registered club competitions (members receive discounted entry) and lots more!

For the club year 14/15, all members receive a pair of beautiful etched SABC glasses which are very sturdy and their tulip shape suits a large range of beer styles.

Also included in your membership is two subsidised club events; these are yet to be announced at this point but rest assured they will be exciting social events you’re not going to want to miss.

Members fees are $60 for new members (inclusive of $10 joining fee), or $50 for members who are renewing their 13/14 membership.

AGM, not far away!

Don’t forget folks, the AGM is just a couple of weeks away. It’s going to be held 2pm 3:30pm, July 26th at The Wheaty. Memberships are also now due, only financial members may vote at the AGM.

We will be accepting nominations at the next Members meeting this Wednesday,16th of July at The Wheaty. Fancy having a say in the day to day operation of your favourite brew club? Desire Fame and Fortune? Well, you won’t get any fame and definitely no fortune, but if you want to nominate for any of the Club Committee positions, now is your chance!

Apologies for incorrect starting time previously mentioned above. Official start is 3:30pm, however unofficial pre-game drinks from 2pm! 🙂

SABC goes FERAL!

Thanks to Feral being as incredibly popular as they are, we got bumped! On July 16th, our normal monthly meeting night, The Wheaty are hosting a ‘Meet the Brewer’ night with Brendan Varis from Feral from 6pm until 8pm. Our Members meeting on July 16th will be held from 8PM in the back room at The Wheaty, rather than the normal 7pm.

This is a great chance for members to come along and meet one of the brewers of Australia’s favourite craft beers, Hop Hog. As an extra bonus, SABC members who come along to the event (ticket purchase required $20 + booking fee), and pre-register with SABC, will receive a free pint of beer courtesy of The Wheaty.

You must contact the club BEFORE COB Tuesday 15th of July to register to receive your free pint, and you must pay for a ticket to the Feral event! Don’t roll up unannounced looking for a free pint!

Meeting topic will be Basic Kegging techniques, with a reduced amount of tastings due to the time restrictions.
