The program for this year’s Good Beer Wheaty has been released, see below for the program and links to the ticketing site. Once again the team at the Wheaty have put together an interesting program, backed up no doubt with some cracking beers. In what is becoming a (very welcome) tradition, Jade has very kindly offered a free pint to SABC members who purchase a ticket to one of the paid events. To take advantage of this offer, you must email the club not less than 24 hours before the event. We will then email the Wheaty with a list of attending members, which will be behind the bar on the day. Note that this offer is only available to financial members.
We have reached our pallet quantity, so the bulk buy is now closed and going ahead.
If you have signed up, you will receive an email shortly with your order summary and payment instructions.
Yes, it’s reminder season again here at SABC. This one’s for the BYO magazine subscription offer. We would like to finalise this one by mid February as well. The magazine is a good read, with quite a lot of useful information and interesting recipes each issue. The sign up page is here, so if you are interested please head over and put your name down.
We would like to finalise the Gladfield grain bulk buy by mid February. Currently, we have less than half the number of bags required to go ahead with the bulk buy, so if you have been thinking of putting your name down, please head over to the sign up page and fill out the form.
We are offering the discounted subscription to BYO Magazine again. Unfortunately, due to increased postage costs and the crappy exchange rate, the cost has gone up to $55.00 for a one year subscription. This still represents a saving of about $13.00 over a standard subscription delivered to Australia if you subscribed direct to the magazine. The magazine offers this deal to clubs as a fundraiser, so we get to keep a portion of the fee to put towards funding club activities. A win-win! Click here and fill out the form if you would like to take up the offer.
The program for Good Beer Wheaty has been announced, and once again it looks to promise four days and nights of interesting discussion, celebrity shoulder-rubbing and of course great beer.
And once again, in what we consider to be an extremely fine tradition, SABC members who purchase a ticket to one of the ticketed events will receive pint of beer on the Wheaty! To take advantage of this, you need to email us to let us know what sessions you are attending at least two days prior to the first one. We will then forward a list of names to the Wheaty the day before each event.

It’s been almost a month since I last badgered you about BeerBQ RSVPs, and that means the event is almost upon us. We are now getting to the pointy end of organising things, so the sooner we have a good idea of numbers the better. No one wants to to see us running out of food…
Don’t forget that this is a fund-raising event for the club, so tell your workmates and friends if you think they would enjoy a night of Beer, BBQ and Bowls. There will be an informal Beer of the Night vote, with points towards Brewer Of The Year, and we are also working on another surprise “entertainment” (no, not that…).
We would like RSVPs back by two weeks before the event to give us the best chance of getting the catering right. Email firstname.lastname@example.org if you are coming along, and don’t forget to tell us if you are bringing a keg (or bottles).
Click here for (slightly) more info about the event.
We don’t yet have enough takers for the Brew Your Own magazine offer to be able take advantage of the club discount price. The cost will be US$40, and for that you get 8 issues delivered, with half the money going back to our club. We would obviously like to make this work, so if you were thinking of taking up the offer, please email the club at email@example.com.
The BYO Magazine subscription offer that some of our members took up last year is just about to expire. Those taking part will likely receive their last magazine this week.
We will be contacting BYO to take up the club offer again, so if you would like to take advantage of this offer please email the club at firstname.lastname@example.org . There will be more info forthcoming once we have heard back from the magazine, but in essence they offer a subscription at a reduced rate over the standard price, the best part being that your club gets to keep half. This money can then get put back into other member benefits.
For those of you who enjoy the offerings of the Barossa’s Rehn Bier, Brenton Rehn has provided SABC members with a fantastic offer. SABC members will receive a 5% discount on any beer purchased, plus 1 Rehn Bier branded glass (425ml Keller) for every 9 bottles purchased.
If you are interested in taking advantage of this offer, please complete the order form (link at top of page) and return it to Rehn Bier. Payment is made direct to Rehn Bier as per the form instructions. Brenton has also kindly offered to deliver any orders placed by 6/11/2015 to the November SABC meeting. Please advise SABC if you require this.
Based in the beautiful Barossa Valley, the Rehn Bier nano-brewery uses traditional brewing principles to hand-craft every single bottle of beer. There’s no rush. Brewing, bottling, hand labelling and conditioning each small batch of our craft beers takes six weeks, giving the aromas and flavours the optimal amount of time and love to develop. Unlike the larger players, each beer we brew is all natural with no additives. We’re also strong believers in low beer miles. Every bottle contains local and Australian ingredients wherever possible because we think they are as good as or better than any you’ll find in the world. At Rehn Bier, you’ll discover and enjoy all the aromas, flavours and passion that come with a well-made artisan beer. We’ll provide you the perfect complement to the delicious wine, food and produce that this region is globally renowned for.
